Dizzle around the Christmas Tree

Let's decorate the Christmas tree! If you know the roll-and-write game Dizzle, print out this level for some cheery Christmas flair.

This Dizzle map is extra large, so the boxes in the top-right corner show some extra rounds in the game. Jamie made this map, and Adam helped playtest and develop it. See the notes below about gameplay and scoring.

Here is the link to the player sheet. Enjoy!

Gameplay

Some squares connect to 2 other squares instead of just 1 on a side. Dice can get to either of those 2 from the originating square.

Squares adjacent to one another but in different colors still connect to one another. Some of these include the red Tree Skirt's connections to the Blue Present, the Blue Present's connections to the Locomotive, and the squares connected to the Tree Trunk. Squares not sharing at least half of a side do not connect. (The only way to place dice on the Locomotive's Caboose is to jump to its Ball Ornament.)

Ball Ornaments work similarly to Dizzle's rockets & planets. When you have a die on a Ball Ornament space and then you cross out the Ball Ornament, you must immediately cross out any other Ball Ornament. (That one does not also jump to another Ball Ornament.) Some Ball Ornaments have no number on them; these can only be reached by jumping to them from other Ball Ornaments. And you can jump from a Ball Ornament with a number to another Ball Ornament with a number.

End of game scoring

Candy Canes and Stars work just like gems in Dizzle.

  • Each individual Candy Cane you cross out gives you 2 points.

  • Each Double Candy Cane you cross out gives you 4 points.

  • Each Star you cross out gives you 3 points.

Some rows give you points if you cross out all squares in the row.

The Nativity scene works like puzzle pieces in Dizzle. If you cross out all 3 spaces that have items from the Nativity, you get 20 points.

The Green Present, the red Tree Skirt, the Blue Present, and the Locomotive are each areas which you must fully cross out to get the points indicated for each of them.

  • The Locomotive has a twist. If you fully cross out the Engine Car, you get 5 points.

  • But if you fully cross out the Engine Car and the Second Car, you instead get 7 points.

  • But if you fully cross out the Engine Car, the Second Car, and the Third Car, you instead get 12 points.

  • But if you fully cross out the entire Locomotive including the Caboose, you instead get 20 points.

  • Note that it doesn't matter the order in which you cross out these shapes during the game; only the end result matters.
